SAFE has been central to changing security education since its inception. It was the first to offer a regular update service for customers on its learning materials, ensuring that training materials used by clients are always up to date. It was the first to offer national certification for trainers and played a lead role in introducing Edexcel, the major awarding body, to the sector. Eight of the largest twenty security companies in the UK work with SAFE.
Today this innovation continues, with support provided to a range of awarding bodies including IQ and Edexcel. SAFE provides qualifications from operations to management level and support materials that are widely acknowledged for their quality and content. It assists organisations wishing to offer qualifications with the support of experts in the field, providing a hub centre for those wishing to offer security qualifications. It runs the qualifications hub for the Government approved National Skills Academy for Hospitality.
