Awarding Organisations

Industry Qualifications is a new pan-sector awarding organisation that is based on the principles of mutuality and committed to partnership with the best of UK vocational education in a mutually supportive, controlled profit environment. SAFE is a founding member of IQ, and a key partner in the delivery of security awards.

Edexcel and SAFE has a strategic partnership for qualifications and training development in the security sector.  SAFE learning resources provide all of the information required for the corresponding BTEC qualifications and are recommended by Edexcel. A subsidiary of Pearsons, Edexcel is the largest awarding organisation in the UK.

Industry Associations

The Fire and Security Association (FSA) recognises SAFE management and trainer development programmes as key components to educating practitioners in the Fire and Security systems sector and supports SAFE by providing technical advice and guidance to its clients. A specialist division of the Electrical Contractors’ Association (ECA), FSA has over 300 members across the UK that represents companies designing, installing, commissioning, maintaining and monitoring electronic fire and security systems.

Skills Academies

The qualifications hub for The National Skills Academy Hospitality (NSAH) is managed by SAFE. As the government approved skills academy for the hospitality industry, NSAH offers national qualifications and training in the hospitality sector which SAFE provides for the security and facilities industry.

Colleges

Harrow College is the largest community college in Harrow with over 10,000 students, which is recognised by Ofsted as Outstanding for Social and Educational Inclusion. SAFE have worked with them since 2008 to deliver learning on short courses and Train to Gain programmes as well as other consultative activities to improve delivery standards.

Wolverhampton College is a further education college formed in 1999 as a merger between Wulfrun College and Bilston Community College. They started working with SAFE since 2005 on various projects and delivery streams. We are currently part of their consortium that delivers both the Train to Gain and European Social Fund (ESS) scheme that is applicable for the Black Country region.

Other Training Providers

CALM Training is SAFE’s partners in developing the Physical Intervention programme. They are recognised internationally as a leader in physical intervention training in the health sector since 1993. BILD Approved and finalists in the National Training Awards, their expertise contribute significantly to research publications. Uniquely in the security industry, they subject all their techniques to independent bio-mechanical assessments which is reflected in their reputation of having the lowest level of published injury rates for a training provider in the UK.

International Organisations

Security Today is India’s largest security magazine. Published by 1st Academy of Security Science Education & Training (1st ASSET), they are represented in the United Kingdom by SAFE.
