The Physical Intervention unit is a mandatory requirement in the UK to become a licensed door supervisor. Developed with our partners, the esteemed Calm Training, it covers not only disengagement, non-restrictive and restrictive methods of physical intervention, but also includes lessons on the law and risks in relation to the use of physical intervention which will help inform security staff on best practices and using physical intervention techniques in their jobs.
- Understanding physical interventions
- Reducing risk of harm in physical interventions
- Physical skills to protect from assault
- Non aggressive stances and methods
- Good practice after physical interventions
Training materials are provided on a USB device and include the following:
- Tutor Notes
- Student Notes
- Lesson plans (see below to download these)
- Powerpoint shows
The materials are priced at £400+vat per year.
Any changes in legislation will be updated free of charge within the license period. The materials are protected; they cannot be edited in any way. Each training package can be run on up to 10 different computers, but they have to be run direct from the USB. If you wish to run more than one course at one time, more than one license will be needed.
The student books are A4 in size, with glue binding. They provide a cost effective alternative to printing the student notes off yourself and give a professional finish.
The books are priced at £7.95 each (no vat) plus shipping.
It is a mandatory requirement to have gained the Level 3 Delivering Physical Intervention Award with us prior to delivering this course. For more details on this, please see the Delivering Physical Intervention course page. These materials cannot be purchased by anyone who does not hold the SAFE/CALM qualification.
